Your Google Business Profile is your new front door
By ORA

Ask a local business owner where customers find them and they'll usually say "Google." Ask them when they last updated their Google Business Profile and you'll get a blank stare.
That profile — the panel with your hours, photos and reviews — is doing more selling than your website. Here's how to make it work.
The map pack is the prize
When someone searches "dentist near me", Google shows three businesses on a map before any normal results. Landing in that trio is worth more than ranking first in the blue links below it.
The quick-win checklist
- Complete every field. Categories, services, attributes, opening hours. Google rewards completeness.
- Add photos monthly. Fresh images signal an active, real business.
- Post updates. Offers and news keep the profile alive and give Google fresh signals.
- Answer questions. Seed the Q&A yourself with the things people actually ask.
Reviews are the engine
Volume, recency and rating all feed local rankings — and they're the single biggest driver of whether someone chooses you over the shop next door.
The best time to ask for a review is right after a happy moment. Build the ask into your process.
Reply to every review, good or bad. A calm, human reply to a one-star review often converts the next reader more than the review itself hurts you.
Consistency, again
Make sure your name, address and phone number are identical everywhere online. Mismatches confuse Google and quietly suppress your ranking. Fix those, keep the profile fed, and the map pack starts working for you around the clock.
